Brian Sibley and Michael Bakewell, co-adapters of the series, talk about how they tackled the task (33 minutes) and Penny Leicester (co-producer), Stephen Oliver (composer), David Collings (played Legolas) and Peter Woodthorpe (voiced Gollum) discuss their work on the series. Their discussion is prefaced by extracts from a tape prepared by Christopher Tolkien to aid pronunciation and followed by a live performance by Peter Woodthorpe as Gollum (39 minutes).

An interesting radio play, written by Humphrey Carpenter, on Tolkien's years in Leeds. An actor plays Tolkien and we learn how his interest in languages came about and how The Hobbit was written. The cd also contains an interview with Carpenter on Tolkien for the Radio 4 program "Kaleidoscope".
