Balrog: Demon of Shadow and Flame. Weta0043

Far beneath the ground, tunneling for Mithril in sunless black rock, the Dwarves disturbed something that had remained safely entombed since ages past, a being of unfathomable terror, relic of a time of gods and giants, a creature of which like should never walked again in Middle-earth and for whom there were few equals remaining in the world, a Balrog of Morgoth. A demon composed of shadow and flame, the Balrog could be harmed by no blade or device of Dwarf design. By the hundreds, Durin’s people and the Dwarf King himself fell before the beast, after named Durin’s Bane…

The Balrog - Demon of Shadow and Flame was sculpted by Jamie Beswarick.

Smaug, King Under the Mountain. Weta01448

3x9x6"/8x23x15 cm. Coiled beneath a quilt of innumerable glittering coins and stolen treasures, the mighty Smaug slumbers, dreaming of gold. The Dwarven city of Erebor was no match for a fire drake and was taken in a storm of death and flame lasting mere moments. The Dragon has resided within the carved walls of stone, supreme and unchallenged in his dominion; the true King Under the Mountain. Yet peerless as Smaug is in size and power, doubt and jealous suspicion gnaw at him in his dreams and stir the Dragon from his slumber. Out there in the wide world the heir of Durin walks still, sworn to reclaim his lost crown and kingdom. Rumour of untold riches might yet attract foolhardy and unwanted guests, and the wretched Men of Lake-town dwell nearly upon the Dragon’s doorstep. Stirring to cast a smouldering eye across his hoard, the thought of thieves and interlopers kindles a fiery rage in the Wyrm’s belly. Sculpted by Gary Hunt and made by the same artists and craftspeople who worked on The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug with the same renowned attention to detail.*

Dimmest of the three ruffians, Tom the Troll resides at the bottom of their brutal walloping order. Wheedling, allergy-ridden and lazy-eyed, Tom frequently catches blows from his companion...*

Bert the Troll. Weta 01279

The first misfortune to befall Bilbo Baggins and his Dwarf companions on their quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain comes in the form of three gruesome Trolls with plans to cook the Company for their dinner.*

William the Troll. Weta 01280

Weta, 2013. Height: 6.5"/16.5 cm.

William the Troll - the third and final in our trio of gruesome trolls is here. We have previously introduced you to Tom the Troll and Bert the Troll.

By virtue of a slight advantage in intellect and a forceful character, William the Troll is the trio’s leader and provider, snatching up the Dwarves’ ponies for their dinner. Calculating - by Troll standards - it is William who realises catching Bilbo is the key to disarming the angry Dwarf mob that attacks them. He is the only one of the group who grasps that the Hobbit is trying to trick them with cooking tips and tales of parasites, but, unfortunately for the Trolls, a little too late.*

Grond battering ram. Weta 1609

A great battering ram fashioned after the snarling visage of a wolf, with flames licking its jaws and burning within its eyes, Grond was a terror to behold. Etched with spells of ruin and hung from a towering gantry, the ram was dragged many miles from the dark foundries of Mordor to the gates of Minas Tirith, a city under siege. Before the White City's walls, Trolls took up chains to swing the mighty wolf's head, shattering the gates, spilling Orcs, Trolls, Wargs and worse to sack and slay within.

A masterpiece of film sculpture, this magnificent Gront collectible was first unveiled at New York Comic-Con. In a strictly Limited Edition of 500.
