The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Tauriel´s delicate pendant in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was designed by Bob Buck and made by Sophie Lewis-Smith for Weta at the 3 Foot 7 Costume department.

It is the only piece of jewellery worn by Tauriel the warrior elf maiden and therefore also one of few pieces of women´s jewellery shown in the film.

The Cubic Zirconia stone in the centre was cut into the shape of a star for the film by Taranaki stonecutter Andrew MacKinnon.

The finely wrought Sterling Silver pendant measures 1.2 in (30mm) by 0.6 in (14mm) and includes a 22 in (56 cm) Sterling Silver chain.*
